Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Navigating through a sea of information can sometimes be overwhelming. To make your journey smoother, we’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) about SHS&S. Whether you’re seeking clarity on specific topics or simply want a better understanding of our offerings, this FAQs page aims to provide answers.

  1. My name is Lynnel Townsend. I have had over 15 years of working as a professional care giver known as a DSP through professional home caregiving agencies. I created a Structured Holistic Service & Schedule, because of my experience, and witnessing first hand the physical and emotional toll never ending caregiving can take on the lives of a caregivers. This is especially so if they did not have relief or a support system in place. I created this program to support these individuals.

  2. As a DSP, Professional caregiver, I am someone who understands how caregivers feel. I also recognized there are many individuals who needed the services of a professional home caregiving agency but they could not afford these services or were not insured. Therefore, I wanted to design the program in a way to give them some of the same invaluable tools they would receive through such agencies, but at a fraction of the cost. I created it so that these individuals could have a unique plan of action in place and additional caregivers who could work a few days a week to give them free time for themselves. As a result, this would give them the physical strength and mental clarity to have a complete transformation and bring a degree of normality in their home in a more relaxed environment.
My targeted population are Main Family Caregivers of individuals needing total care that are either uninsured or that cannot afford help through such agencies.
  1. I target Main Family Caregivers who could not afford help through professional home caregiving agencies. My purpose is to provide them with training through a 4 week course in our online school. The courses are designed to give these individuals some of the same skills, services and tools they would receive through such agencies at a fraction of the cost.

  2. In addition to providing these skills and services our goal is to also help them generate additional caregivers who we will train. These will work 2-3 days a week 8-10 hours a day to give them free time away from their love ones.
My 4 week training program is called a Structured Holistic Service & Schedule. It is a unique plan of action that allows me to help as many families and Main Family Caregivers as possible without having to be physically present to do so. Our program is designed to help stabilize these families and individuals, who are in a desperate situation, needing an immediate plan of action and support system. As a result of our training, these families and individuals can focus on their own needs and health. They will also have the time to explore additional resources and agencies we will direct them to. These agencies can further educate them on their love ones disease, after they complete our 4 week training.
Usually, when we think of caregiving, the primary person you take into consideration is the person needing care. This is understandable and only natural since these individuals cannot take care of themselves. Our services are different because our primary focus is the Main Family Caregiver or any main caregiver working 24/7 without a support system. This is because statistics have shown, and I have also personally witnessed throughout the years that, unless you first take the needs of the caregiver into consideration and give them the support they need, they will not have the physical strength or mental clarity to provide quality care for the person in need of care. Therefore when you focus First on the caregivers needs you help them both, the person needing care and the caregiver.
As a DSP, I have had over 15 years of working as a professional caregiver. Throughout these years I have witnessed the physical and emotional toll never ending caregiving has taken on the lives of family and friends of mine when they did not have a plan of action and support system in place. My purpose of creating a Structured Holistic Service & Schedule was to give other families in such crisis some of the same tools, skills, support and resources they would receive if they could afford a professional caregiving agency. The following are two sad situations I personally experienced from two families I knew and loved:
    1. This first sad experience was a painful one to me concerning a family of three that were all dear friends of mine. Though each one had medical issues and needed total care, only two of them had a terminal illness. It broke my heart that circumstances did not permit me to help them in their crisis. Sadly as things got progressively worse and as they were forced to become caregivers to one another, I watched as their health continued to decline and within 4 months they all passed. This was because they were all trying their best to take care of each other. The saddest thing was the last to die. He was the youngest of the three. Though he had serious health issues, they were issues he could have lived with had he not been forced to become a caregiver when he personally needed caregiving.
    2.
    3. Another sad situation was a family member of mine. This individual was in a nursing home but died as his health progressively declined. Despite being in a nursing home he still needed caregiver support to make sure his needs were properly met. This is a situation that is happening too often in nursing home and assistant living care where many of them are understaffed. This means that the quality care these sick individuals need they may not get. This is why it is imperative even in theses facilities that families have a plan of action and a support system in place to visit your love one and make sure their needs are being met. This is especially so since the pandemic where many of these facilities are severely understaffed!

  1. After receiving our training, our goal is for these Main Family Caregivers to have a unique plan of action in place, structured to take their needs and the needs of their love ones into consideration. Through the training we will help them create a Binder similar to the ones professional home caregiving agencies use in the homes of their clients. This is one of the main tool they use and that I used throughout the years when I worked with any home caregiving agency. These binders were all filled with a medical profile of the individual needing care. As we structure our binders like this, we will also include daily task sheets, weekly schedules and so much more. As a result, any caregiver working with your love one will know how and what to do to provide quality care.

  2. Another goal is to help these families generate additional caregivers who will be trained to work 2-3 days a week, 8-10 hours a day to give these individuals me time, free time away from their love ones. Since our Services are only 4 weeks long, they can use this free time to explore other agencies and resources. These will further assist them with their love one’s needs, and educate them on their disease after they complete our training courses. Our training courses are designed to help stabilize them in their desperate situation.
Our overall goal is for these individuals and families to have quality time with their love ones during the entire duration of their love one’s illness. We do not want their time to be clouded by disorganization, overwhelming grief and frustration. We want them to have lasting, cherished memories of a life well lived, with a family that stuck together in a crucial time in their lives.

In a world filled with many diseases it would be impossible to educate families on all of these. This is not our field of expertise. Our 4 week training services are designed to try to stabilize an individual in their State of Emergency of “Caregiver Burnout or Crisis.”

To illustrate, our services are similar to what an ambulance equipped with an EMT does in a state of emergency. They take care of the immediate life threatening need and stabilize the individual while in route to the hospital. Our services provides them with: a plan of action, a medical profile of the individual needing care and try to help these MFC generate additional caregivers. These we will train to provide quality affordable caregiving a few days a week. This will give them free time away from their love one needing total care. As a result, this help will create stabilization and a transformation, while preparing them to benefit from further assistance from other agencies.

Like the example of the Ambulance and the EMT, Once a person in a life threatening emergency arrive to the hospital, the life saving services the EMT provided and Ambulance are no longer needed. This is because a trained medical staff takes over in the ER as they are placed in ICU.
In the same way, after the completion of our 4 week course, designed to help these caregivers in their crisis, with their plan of action in place, we will direct them to additional agencies. These can take over (like the ER Staff in ICU) by educating the person on the disease and providing other services and support. Go to our 4 week training courses.

As a result, with the combined effect of the SHS&S Team and these additional agencies, these individuals and their families will have physical and emotional strength and stability to provide the best care they can to their love one in desperate need of support. These combined efforts of the SHS&S Team and other caregiving agencies will support these families throughout the duration of their love one’s illness.

Even though there are a variety of agencies and organizations out there that can benefit these individuals in their crisis, the problem that many have expressed is these MFC are too busy caring for the daily needs of their love one that they don’t have the time to explore these resources no matter how valuable they are. Because it’s causing life threatening effects on the health of the caregiver, this makes their situation an EMERGENCY!
I created SHS&S to give IMMEDIATE support and solutions to Main family Caregivers to help stabilize their Emergency situation so that they can have the strength and mental clarity to be the best caregivers they can be to their love ones in need of total care. What makes their situation an emergency is that never ending caregiving without a support system or plan of action can have life threatening effects on the caregiver.
According to statistics never ending caregiving without a support system can have life threatening effects on the caregiver. One statistic brought out that an individual providing this type of care has a 30% chance of dying before the persons they are taking care of. Let’s work together to put a plan of action in place to help Main Family Caregivers or any Caregivers working 24/7, get IMMEDIATE SUPPORT from our services so I can take them from their emergency crisis and help stabilize their situation. You could be responsible for preventing a heart attack, a stroke or other ailments! Your support could actually prevent these families from having 2 people needing care, the person providing care as well as the caregiver.

Usually, with caregiving, the primary person you take into consideration is the person needing care since these individuals cannot take care of themselves. Our services are different because our primary focus is the Main Family Caregiver or any main caregiver working 24/7 without a support system. This is because statistics have shown that, unless you first take the needs of the caregiver into consideration and give them the support they need, they will not have the physical strength or mental clarity to provide quality care for the person in need of care. Therefore when you focus First on their needs you help them both, the person needing care and the caregiver.
The greatest help others can provide is to help get the message out that I have created a New Approach to caregiving by first of all focusing on the need of the caregiver and supporting them. This is so that they will have the strength to continue caring for the person needing care without it’s taking a toll on their on lives.Another help others can give is to help these caregivers to see and be aware that their situation is dire, that it is imperative that they take care of their own help too. This is important because many of these, especially if the person they are taking care of is a mate or parent, guilt can make them feel obligated to be there all the time and neglect themselves and other responsibilities. If others can help them view their situation as a crises, they may be willing to let friends, family and additional caregivers help or assist them.If you know of individuals personally in this situation please direct them to our website: endcaregiverburnout.com. Have them to look at our online 4 week training courses that can support them as well as look at our YouTube videos. By doing so you could be helping them stave off a heart attack, stroke or you could be saving their life! It is imperative that they have a support system in place asap!My 4 week training program can help them put a plan of action and support system in place. This can help save lives or improve their health. By Word of mouth, social media… direct them to the training program. Please check us out on YouTube also. Also feel free to make a donations.
